Award-winning composers Travis Weller and Brent Baldwin present an evening of atmospheric contemporary musical works. Utilizing an amalgamation of traditional and custom instruments, homemade sound generators, and unexpected found objects, Weller and Baldwin bring their mercurial styles to the fore in a forward-reaching-yet-approachable evening of sound. Works include Three Improvisations, Three Fractals, “…into the wild and weedy dunes…”, Heliograms from the High Country, and the premiere of Of Measures & Minefields.
Featuring special guest Lisa del Rosario (dance).
A freewill offering will be gratefully accepted at the door (suggested donation $20), with a split of the proceeds to benefit the SIMS Foundation, which provides mental health and substance use recovery services and supports for musicians, music industry professionals, and their dependent family members.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
TRAVIS WELLER is a composer, performer and instrument builder. He is one of the founders of Austin New Music Co-op, which has been presenting adventurous new music in central Texas for over 20 years. His music has been commissioned and performed in Europe and across the US by groups such as Yarn/Wire, Ensemble Pamplemousse, line upon line percussion, Cadillac Moon Quartet, and the Quince Vocal Ensemble. Travis collaborates frequently with a large group of colleagues, both regional and international, and has participated in residencies at Hambidge Center for the Arts, Cornell University in Ithaca, STEIM in Amsterdam, and OdysseyWorks in San Francisco. An avid interpreter of new music, Travis has performed a variety of contemporary music from mid-20th century onward and has worked with many internationally known composers including John Butcher, Phill Niblock, Olivia Block, Michael Pisaro, Fred Lonberg-Holm, Ellen Fullman, Tristan Perich, Pauline Oliveros, and Arnold Dreyblatt.

BRENT BALDWIN is an award-winning conductor, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, arranger, and composer. He holds a Master’s degree in conducting from the University of Texas at Austin and performs throughout the U.S., Europe, South America, and Asia. Baldwin's deep passion for adventurous art-making and innovative partnerships have yielded a dizzying array of collaborative work with artists such as Roomful of Teeth, Roky Erickson, Alejandro Escovedo, Austin Symphony Orchestra, Kronos Quartet, Big Star Third, M. Ward, REM's Peter Buck & Mike Mills, A Giant Dog, Inversion Ensemble, Mobley, Austin Soundwaves, Thor & Friends, Trail of Dead, Convergence, New Music Co-op, Panoramic Voices, and Golden Hornet Project. A fierce advocate of contemporary music, Brent has directed innumerable world-premiere performances, including works by Glenn Kotche (Wilco), Todd Reynolds (Bang on a Can), Petra Haden, Steve Parker, Adrian Quesada (Black Pumas), Kitty Xiao, Carlos Cordero, Caleb Burhans, Donald Grantham, Steve Parker, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composers Shulamit Ran and Caroline Shaw. His creation, curation, and production of Indie Orchestra Night, Holiday Mixtape, and the Blanton Museum of Art Beat the Rush have yielded much critical acclaim, and his direction of Mozart Requiem Undead have earned him national praise from New Music Box and placed him atop of Austin Chronicle “Best of” and the Austin Critics’ Table Awards lists.

LISA DEL ROSARIO is a multifaceted artist - dancer, teacher, choreographer, and Feldenkrais Teacher®. She teaches at Ballet Austin, Austin Feldenkrais®, and often creates dances on her own whim. Lisa is a native Texan and has been dancing professionally in this great city of Austin for over two decades. She regularly dances for Alyson Dolan and worked with many dance makers including Ellen Bartel, Magdalena Jarkowiec, Sharon Marroquin, Rosalyn Nasky, Lauren Tietz, and companies including Andrea Ariel Dance Theatre, BLiPSWiTCH, Blue Lapis Light, and Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Co.
