Back at It For Real w/Moving Panoramas

Live music alert!

It's hard to put into words the sheer joy that filled the air tonight. As a professional musician, the past 15 months have been a rollercoaster of scattered virtual performances and few socially-distanced shows. But tonight was different. Tonight, Moving Panoramas returned to the stage at Meanwhile and it felt nothing short of triumphant.

There was an energy in the air that was palpable - a shared sense of happiness and relief that we were all able to come together in person once again. Of course, there were a few hiccups along the way. Loading in heavy gear while wearing a mask was a bit annoying, and we felt a little rusty at times. But did anyone in the audience care? Not one bit.

It was a reminder that sometimes, imperfection can be the most beautiful thing of all. A couple of us even forgot to play that one extra chorus in Baby Blues (raises hand), but no one seemed to mind.

After the show, I caught up with some industry friends who I hadn't seen in far too long, including Jolie from Mean Jolene, Brendan from Black Pumas/Golden Dawn Arkestra, Robyn from Lightstream Presents, Erica from ATX Music & Entertainment Division, and so many more. We swapped stories, laughed, and relished in the fact that we were all able to experience live music again. It was so very grateful for those moments.

The word “grateful” doesn’t come close to describing my feelings, but it’ll have to suffice for now.
